What this is.

Pavia is a roleplay nation which exists on the Minecraft server CivMC (play.civmc.net). It is a passion project for many individuals, and is widely regarded as the economic hub of the server, partly in thanks to the prevalence of Monument Bank.

This site is a blog about the economics of Pavia, and the economics of CivMC more broadly. It is a place to write up the data and analysis that comes out of the server's economy, and to discuss the economics of the server in general. It is not a place to discuss politics, roleplay or other non-economic topics.

Behind Monument Bank there is now an exchange with real price discovery, a securities market, and a full ledger flow, all on a Discord bot servicing 3,000 users. This is where the interesting parts of building those get written up, along with whatever the data turns out to say.
